Joacim Stappe commutes to his volunteer duties all the way from Sweden!
As a former math teacher who visits Minneapolis frequently on business, Joacim makes an effort each time he’s in town to stop into Becky Nicholson’s 1st grade classroom at Hale Elementary. When there, Joacim works with the class on higher level thinking math skills.
Nicholson notes, “the children have taken to him so quickly, absolutely adore him, and are learning so much about math and Sweden.”
When he’s not able to be in Minneapolis, Joacim Skypes with the class at 11:40 every “Thinking Thursday” to work on math problems.
Thank you, Joacim, for your dedication to our students and being our furthest-commuting volunteer!
