Jimmy Loyd is the definition of mentoring at Patrick Henry High School.
As a mentor in the “100 Black Men Strong” Youth Mentoring Program, Jimmy has met with teachers, family, and staff members to learn more about his mentee and the challenges they should work on together.
Jimmy meets with his student regularly to set goals, maintain a positive relationship, and address current challenges in his mentee’s life.
Jimmy’s impact reaches beyond his mentor/mentee relationship. Chris Fleming, who nominated Jimmy for recognition, notes “Jimmy is not afraid to ask for help and is always eager to try something new. He is setting the tone for the mentors in the Youth Mentoring Program here at Henry.”
Thank you, Jimmy, for your willingness to work hard and try new things to benefit our students at Henry!
