Background checks are required for volunteers that will be working in an unsupervised role with a student. Schools are able to decide which roles are considered unsupervised in their school. Most field trips require a background check.
Background checks are typically processed within 7-10 days of receiving the volunteer's authorization form. Please allow for this amount of time to ensure your check has been processed before beginning to volunteer.
If a volunteer provides a legible email address on their authorization form, they will be sent a notification once their background check has cleared. The school will also be notified. Once cleared, your background check will be good for two years.
