STEPS FOR BECOMING A VOLUNTEER

Thank you for your interest in being a volunteer with Minneapolis Public Schools.  In order to become a volunteer at MPS, you must complete all of the following:

1. Complete an online application- there are different forms for Community Member Volunteers and Parent/Guardian Volunteers

2. Some volunteer positions require you to complete a criminal background check. You will be notified if this is required.  Please allow 2 weeks for the background check process to be completed.

3. Complete an orientation to your volunteer position.  If you know your volunteer placement, check with your school contact about orientation.  If you do not have a volunteer placement, please call the volunteer office at 612-668-3880 to discuss placement options (district-wide new volunteers orientations will resume in late 2017).
