Volunteer MPS

Volunteers bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm into our schools while assisting teachers, staff, and students. They encourage students and inspire them to reach their potential. Additionally, volunteers experience a sense of fulfillment and pride in helping to improve our schools for everyone in the community.

Betty Jane Reed Award

The Betty Jane Reed Award recognizes outstanding contributions by a volunteer in support of academic achievement of students in Minneapolis Public Schools.  We invite you to nominate an exceptional volunteer who has made significant contributions to your school, your students, and your program.

The Community Academic Series is for you if:

You work with Minneapolis Public School students—as an ALC provider, volunteer, youth worker, afterschool leader or parent—and you want to know more about supporting the academic growth of kids. Learn more about the series, as well as other training opportunities offered by Volunteer MPS.
